E-Rate Funding for your School!!!!!
Even though all ALSS schools are eligible to receive E-Rate funds to cover 20% to 90% of their Telephone and Internet costs, 70 of our 79 members failed to claim about $500,000 of entitled E-Rate funds for 2009.
A recent Government report revealed 3 main reasons why only 13% of Private schools receive their entitled E-Rate funds:
1. Many private schools are unaware of E-Rates; many school administrators don’t realize their school IS eligible to receive E-Rate funds.
2. Even private schools that know about E-Rate funds don’t have enough staff time or expertise to complete the lengthy, complex E-Rate filing process.
3. Schools also don’t have time to write the required 3-year tech plan, or get it approved; a process that is needed to receive E-Rate funds for both Telephone and Internet services. We understand that many ALSS members were uncertain how to write a tech plan and how to get it approved.
Because we know member schools need to begin getting their entitled E-Rate funds, ALSS is taking two positive steps to help your school get 2010 E-Rate funds.
1. To eliminate the Tech Plan problem, I will become a certified E-Rate Tech Plan approver, and will help schools write and approve an E-Rate compliant tech plan.
2. To eliminate the problem of lengthy complex filing process, we recently arranged to outsource the complex filing process for member schools to eRateProgram,LLC, an experienced E-Rate consulting firm from St. Louis, MO. eRateProgram,LLC’s mission is to maximize E-Rate funding for your school and at the same time minimize the stress and workload on you and your staff. To learn about them and their success stories visit their website at www.erateprogram.com.
Because deadlines for filing for 2010 E-Rate funds are quickly approaching, I have attached information on E-Rates and eRateProgram, LLC, for your review.
I urge you to complete the attached confidential E-rate information sheet and fax it to eRateProgram, LLC to (314) 854-1329 as soon as possible.
